When I was a kid, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always list half a dozen things. Though five of the six changed from year to year, there was always one constant: magician. I have been fortunate enough to be able to fulfill my boyhood dream and become a professional entertainer. It started when I was 16 and I began performing with a friend as the comedy magic duo Abra and Cadabra. Years later in college I developed a solo act from some of the material I had been performing with my friend. I added a little more comedy and a lot more edge. In 1996 I began to present this act at comedy clubs and variety shows throughout New York City and started calling myself Magic Brian, I found my last name was far too difficult for MC's to remember or pronounce correctly.

During this time I continued to develop my act and challenge myself. In 1998 I created Dr. Frangible, a snake-oil salesman/magician whose goal is to sell his miracle elixir Dr. Frangible's Electric Lumberjack juice with a series of ridiculous demonstrations that often go horribly wrong.

After a few years performing in New York I had established a reputation and was fortunate enough to work with The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, a touring variety show that is a combination of vaudeville, sideshow, burlesque and circus. We traveled the U.S. and Canada performing in all types of venues.

In the summer of 2002 I started performing my comedy straitjacket escape show in the streets and squares of Europe. Since then, I have performed in 18 countries and have been invited to some of the most prestigious festivals around the world including, The World Buskers Festival in Christchurch, NZ, The Street Performers World Championships in Dublin, IRE, The Edmonton International Busker Festival in Edmonton, CA as well as many other festivals in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Dubai and all throughout Europe.

In 2009 I was asked by a friend to host his comedy rock show. He wanted me to host it as a heavy metal magician, and my newest character, Nigel Blackstorm was born. Since then I have developed the character and the show for both indoor and outdoor stages. After only the first season presenting the new show I was awarded Best Act at StadtSpektakel, an international street theater festival in Germany.

When I am back home in New York City I host and produce my own variety shows and have had the opportunity to perform on the stage of the world famous Coney Island Sideshow as well as appear as a special guest on The Late Show with David Letterman. Over my years as a performer I have expanded and developed my material. I have complete confidence in every type of performance situation I'm presented with, be it performing a card trick for a small group of people at a private event, or escaping from my straitjacket in front of a large audience in a theater or on the street at an international festival.

When asked to describe my act, I will often say that I incorporate the old with the new - using inspiration from circus sideshow acts and classic magic effects, and adding my own unique, humorous, and sometimes outrageous twist to it all. Whether it be my stage act, my street show, or some of my close-up magic, if I'm performing as Magic Brian, Dr. Frangible or Nigel Blackstorm, it's all done with passion and fun to make people smile... and maybe even soil themselves!
